Bles the lord

“To whom will you compare me? Who is my equal? Asks the Holy one.” Isaiah 40:25. He is unmatchable, incomparable, unequaled, He is the Great I AM. I feel like this is where Jesus is calling me to bask in, to grow in, to pursue him in this year, 2025. There is nothing on earth that could ever satisfy me like He does, because there is no one like him.
In Matthew 16:13-19, Jesus asks his disciples, “Who do PEOPLE say that the Son of Man is?’ ‘Well,’ they replied, ‘some say John the Baptist, some say Elijah, and others say Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.”Matt. 16: 13-14. People try to figure Jesus out, the world tries to put Him in a box, it tries to explain Him, when He is absolutely incomprehensible. Our flesh wants to understand Him, so we compare Him to what we know, the people compared Him to John the Baptist and Elijah, but they did not know Him.
Jesus then asks His loyal disciples, the ones who had watched Him perform miracles, the ones He had chosen to hear the secrets of the Kingdom coming near, the ones who devoted their lives to Him, “He asked them, ‘But who do YOU say I am?’ Simon Peter answered, ‘You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”Matt. 16: 15-16. Simon Peter knew Him. He recognized Him. He followed Him. Because He believed Jesus was the incomparable, unexplainable Son of the living God, the one they had waited for. But how can you KNOW the God that surpasses all knowledge? How do you KNOW the God who was there before the beginning of time and yet knew you by name? The truth is we will never fully UNDERSTAND Him in this world, but we are invited into His revelation light of relationship to be caught in overwhelming glimpses of His glory. He invites us to the table, because He wants us to be confident in who He is so we can live out who we are.
“Jesus replied, ‘You are blessed, Simon son of John, because my Father in heaven has REVEALED this to you. You did not learn this from any human being.”We know Him because the Father reveals Himself to us, in fact He takes delight in pulling us close to His heart, where we receive nourishment and discover more of His magnitude. I have known Jesus all my 16 years, but lately I’ve been falling deeper in love with who He is. My normal questions I used to ask Him were,”How do you see me? Who am I?” These are vital questions, however, this season, where I’m trying to figure out the next steps in my life, He has been focusing my attention on Him alone, the truth of all He is and does for me. When I turn my eyes upon Jesus, the things of the world become strangely dim, because He is SO magnificent. I’ve been asking Him, “Who are you to me today?” and He consistently reveals more of His character, through His voice, circumstances, and His presence, parts of Him I can not learn from any human being. “I would not have told the people of Israel to seek me if I could not be found.”Isaiah 45:19. The Holy One can be found, so let's seek Him. Adoni is to be revered, so let’s never compare Him. The Good Shepherd is guiding, so let’s follow. Follow Him to the secret place, where we learn to know Him, so when He asks us, “But who do you say I am?” we can confidently answer, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” For the Holy One has no equal.
