Love Bound

You are love bound. I was walking through the grass bear foot, letting my feet experience the cool lush beauty as I dreamed, wondered, and asked for a name for this blog. Regular old names floated through my mind, marking countless ideas as boring and overused. Love bound skidded across the doorway of my mind. I caught it. I pondered it. I claimed it. This is for me, this is for you, this is how I want to walk out every day of my life bound to an unexplainable love that pours from my Father's heart, that chooses me above all else. This is what I want to define me. Bound to an unexplainable feeling that makes me come alive, that breathes value and worth into my being. You can claim it too. But the truth is even if you never choose love it will always choose you, because you are bound to it from the moment you were created to the time you breathed your last. You are created for this intimate, all-knowing love. Ephesians 1:4 says "Before He laid the earth's foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by his love." It's not a mistake that you are loved by the God of the universe. LONG before this earthly world was created, He already chose to love us. To make us whole and holy, set apart and intertwined with the family of God. Logic can't explain this awestricken plan that chooses us before it sees us. Because logic says, "You need to prove your worth, your knowledge, and expertise to become someone, to have fame to your name." But the God of love doesn't need proof of who you are, because He intimately knew your every thought before the foundation of the earth. You are love bound. Paul says in Romans 8:38 "And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God's love." So am I. I'm absolutely convinced that who you are, what you've done, your past, present or future can never separate you from the divine connection to the King of love. How about you? Love binds you to a constant, grounds you to the present, and roots you in the ground. So you can run wild, be free, and be you. It's a bond that sets you free. That gives you a purpose in the ordinary, hope in the hopeless, and calm in the storm. Jesus told me that if we really know how loved we are loved by Him we would walk in purpose every day. It blew my mind and made me stop and think. Do I really live out of the extravagant ever-flowing love of the Father? Probably not. But I want to wake up every morning with a song on my heart because I am love bound, and be me when the world looks down on me because I am love bound. I want to embrace the hurting, take a risk for my Jesus, and be uncomfortable because I am love bound. How about you? Are you willing to let love bind you to freedom? To take just one baby step into the love of God, that is so vast you'll never be able to comprehend it? Allow His love in and you'll never be the same. Let Him encounter you because you are LOVE BOUND.
